A slow and wonderful day

I set out for a walk I haven't decided where ill go.

The sky is gray the air is moist and damp hinting of coming snow.
I wander past the post office I decide to mail a letter.
The temperature is a little chilly I decide to pull on my sweater.
Having done this I am reminded I have other errands to run.
So off I go to the bank to deposit my check and still I'm not done.
So I plod on I pass a storage rental and remember that I need one.
So I stop to see if they have a large one but the clerk tells me they have none.
So at a leisurely pace I set off strolling continuing down the street.
I walk through my old stomping grounds wondering who I might meet.
I come across an older gent, a former client of mine.
I shoot the breeze with him for awhile, he is doing quite fine.
After our conversation I set off to strolling along again.
I strolled down a country road past the home of an old co-worker and friend.
Onward I kept trodding headlong into the misty wind.
A couple people offered a ride to town but their offer I did rescind.
I took a back-way into town and headed to the library.
I looked around at the Cd's and books to see if any interested me.
I got a book for my niece, the second book of her series.
She's reading Anne of green gables, I got her Anne of avonlea.
And so the day is waning and it is time that I head home.
For it is after three and the sun has not yet shone.
Upon my arrival I draw a hot bath and prepare a snack.
Now I am warm and clean so I study and my book-bag pack.
For there is meeting tonight but I have just enough time for a nap.
I woke up a bit late so I rush to get ready and cold water on my face slap.
I'm ready in the nick of time I catch a ride from my friend.
And off we go to the meeting,  no better place could I my time spend.
After it is over I stick around to visit all those who are there.
I talk to the younger ones, those my age, and older ones with little hair.
The night draws to a close as most have left for home and gone.
So to my friends house I go we laugh and joke, kick back and turn the t.v. on.
After a couple shows it is time for me to go and slowly I walk home.
I prepare for bed and start a movie as I drift off to sleep, if I dreamed it is not known.
